Does anyone know if the con-ed workman had either a partner or a safety man..  It seems to me that the upper managers at con-ed are putting the public, FDNY, pdny as well as their own lower managers in danger.  I'd like to see the upper managers get out on the streets.  I hope that the worker who was burnt makes a speedy recover.

He was in the vault with all his ppe and the retrieval line connected and was removed by the retrieval device. The problem is most of these "managers" are young college grads hired on in their "Gold" program where they spend 6 months in 3 seperate areas and then are assigned to an area as a supervisor. They go through the learning center and are qualified as the mechanics would be but there is no level of experience. The number of supervisors who have come up through the ranks has dwindled through attrition in the recent years. We got a nastygram from the COO chastising us for the OSHA rate climbing. Three serious injuries in 3 days.
