Initial call was from 188 Ludlow which is a whole block south of the location thus Box 404 which was at Ludlow & Stanton Sts. Fire is at the NE corner of Houston & Ave. A

Look like it is more or less under control now. Just opening up now to find any hot spots. Had to be around 30 firefighters on the roof that they showed on fox 5. Also add ladder 20 to the rundown.
 
Box Location was Ludlow St and Stanton St.  I was watching the fire live on TV on Channel 4 -they were covering it continuosly on their 5pm LX show and then the beginning of the news hour at 6pm. My daughter and her husband just moved to SOHO on Houston St - fortunately for them they are further west toward 6th Avenue.

Yes, because somone in 188 Ludlow reported seeing fire. The fire was actually on the other (north) side of Houston St. Please note that Houston St. differs from most of Manhattan and has even numbers on the northside and odd on the southside.
 
the dispatcher ran them off and i was like what the heck why so many....hopefully some one will have a better run down
