Chief of Operations Patrick McNally officially retired on July 31st after 32 years in the department. Assistant Chief Robert Sweeney was promoted to fill his spot, with DAC James Manahan becoming the new Assistant Chief of Operations.
Sweeney has 27 years on the Department and was the Incident Commander of the FDNY team sent to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
