Meadowmere Park responded. In any case, it would not have been Hicksville . . . they are more than 20 miles away. Lawrence/Cedarhurst, maybe . . . but not Hicksville.

As I've told you, Brad, I'd be totally lost for any incident in Connecticut, just as you seem to be for Nassau County NY.:rolleyes:;)

This is kind of an interesting situation. In Queens, the street in question is Rockaway Boulevard. But as soon as you cross into Nassau County, it becomes Rockaway Turnpike. Also, from about 248 Street to the water (by the IHOP in the map), the street is the dividing line between Queens and Nassau counties. To make it more interesting, the area shaded lilac on the map is the Meadowmere section of Queens, while the area shaded white is the village of Lawrence in Nassau County. It's also the only place I'm aware of where a portion of Nassau County is directly to the WEST of any part of Queens. And, if the address reported above is correct, there is no question . . . it's in Nassau.

For Darrell: The Meadowmere Park FD DID respond. I don't know about PAPD, but it is close to JFK airport.

From the Nassau County Fire Service Academy:

"At approximately 11:00 AM this morning, in Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire District on Rockaway Tpke, there was an auto accident leading to an overturned tanker truck leaking. Over 10 fire departments from Nassau county, as well as units from the FDNY, NCPD, and USCG are working to resolve the situation. This is an evolving incident and the information stated here is preliminary."

Stranger things have happened. Where I worked in Winter Haven, we had a bank where the physical bank was in Polk County, but the drive thru attached to it was in the City Limits. The next block east was a strip mall which was in the County but the blocks behind and in front ot it was City. When ever I had to do a report, I looked for the garbage cans to figure out how to code it.

Hicksville HazMat and their Foam Unit responded to the incident. They were requested at about 1130 am
