I lived on 107 St. and 107 Ave. 47 years ago and those homes were built in the 20's and were balloon framed. So a fire in the basement goes unimpeded to the top floor. Who knew back then they were trying to save money on each home built. The only good thing about that type of construction it was easy to run wiring to the 2nd floor from the circuit panel in the basement.
