4th Alarm
E-330,253,329,250
L-169,161 Act. 159,172s/c,147s/c
B-44

Gerrittsen Beach Vollies

Did the FDNY actually request the GB vollies?

does the foam tender feed the other foam units on scene or do they have a separated tasking

STAjo....  l must agree with you regarding E 329 & possibly L 137

If l am not mistaken E 329 is 1st or possibly 2nd due at on Flatbush Ave by the training field and PD chopper.  Seeing 329 assigned on the 4th is very strange.  Also if 137 is still in there quarters that would make them also 1st or 2nd due

In the past 329 on the Box does respond to the NYPD  Facility at Floyd Bennett Field & some of the boat yards  & establishments along the Southern most portions of Flatbush Ave  but i believe does not go farther North in the direction of Kings Plaza & 137 definitely not.... however when there is something like this i would say all bets are off....(unless maybe barb ?).

according to the ny post..it was so hot the paint on the floor was peeling up..ceiling light fixtures were melting.
as the engine companies were making progress..was there spalling concrete from the ceilings.

How does the IC work the Vollys into the incident action plan on something like this ? Are they given fire attack duty, given trivial tasks like assisting in picking up hose or are they just left to stand there. Just curious

I saw Marines 1, 3, 6, 8 & 9 on Signal73's rundown.  That's a LOT of marine firepower, including all of the big boats.  Does anyone know if any or all of those units actually flowed water?

Ray

If you look through the pictures you will see some lines stretched from the boats.  I saw M6 the Bravest supplying water and two of the smaller boats

Saw it, Kevin, especially in Brian G's pictures . . .  but saw no sign at all of M1 or M9 . . . too big to get in there?

My guess is that they draft to much water to get that far into the area

The Kutta Link Radio, KLR-200, is being piloted in Manhattan by two Communications Units, Engines 7 and 263 and is also carried by Field Comm. Each has two Kutta KLR-200 units. The Kutta system has all the features of the standard Post Radio and additionally can operate as a repeater with two means of repeating radio transmissions.

Raybrag i noticed Marine 9A was one of the small boats suppling a line, my guess is they responded with the Alpha Boats. I?m guessing if they responded with both, the 343 and Firefighter II never entered the marina due to room and draft issues

How often is the Field Comm Battalion designated the Staging Area Manager and is there any particular reason for when this occurs?
