i love how at first, WABC Tv(Channel 7)reported this as being in "the Arden Heights" section of S.I. when it was no where near that part of the island. Like Rodney Dangerfield, this island gets...no respect.

"Arden Heights" is an old name for most of what we used to call Annandale.  I think a few builders figured out they could charge more money for the homes they overdeveloped in the area if they used a more expensive sounding name - Arden Heights.

By the way, it used to be a real brush fire area along Arthur Kill.  Long runs for E 164, E 162, L 84, L 82 and Bn 23.  No one else around.

St Michael's Home was located off AK Rd.  When closed, it was the site of many jobs.

Also, it had one of the Drumgoole Blvd/Arthur Kill Rd intersections.  The other one was in Tottenville by the Outerbridge Crossing.  Relocated companies sometimes responded to wrong location which was about 5 miles the wrong way.  Bad street signs, no SI maps, no GPS.
