Dennis J. Conway

April 26, 1945 - March 3, 2026

Beloved son, brother, father, grandfather.

Courageous firefighter, a dedicated friend, he will be forever remembered.

Dennis J. Conway, a proud and dedicated member of the Fire Department of New York, passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 80.

Dennis was born in Brooklyn on April 26, 1945, to Helen and Joseph Conway. He grew up in the streets of Greenpoint surrounded by friends and cousins. He entered the United States Army in 1965 and fought bravely for our country in Vietnam.

After his time in the Army, Dennis proudly joined the FDNY in 1968. Starting out in the South Bronx, he then found a home in Brooklyn, Ladder Company 111

"The Nuthouse". Along the way, he received many honors for his heroic efforts.

Dennis was in the FDNY for 31 years and ended his career as a decorated firefighter. He formed many lifelong friends with the firefighters he served alongside. The friendships he made during those years remained deeply meaningful to him throughout his life.

In retirement, Dennis loved spending time on the golf course, enjoying the game and the time spent outdoors.
