Astoria Truck Companies

I was looking for some help here with this question. I just moved to Astoria 33rd RD and Crescent ST. Is ladder 117 Second due to a box here? I know 116 Is first in truck? Just quite a run.

TL 117 should be Second Due, TL 163 would probably be next up.

OK Thanks Everyone for the quick responses. L-117 is over a mile away. 1.50 miles. Not too many truck companies my side of town.

in 1928 Ladd 163 was with eng 312 until 1951 when it moved to eng 325 at least thats what i recall

With all the construction from 39th Avenue to Queens Plaza, I can't believe that doesn't justify brining back Engine 261!

So that's what concerns me. If 117 has a Job east of Quarters or North having T-163 Come in from Woodside just strains what we have. At every corner here new housing just springs up. Its a huge risk I feel. You think a relocation of a Truck company would be considered?

So if the City did decide to put a truck company in this area , what the best Location ? 312 ? E-260 What about the Foam second piece. E-263 , OR would they consider Roosevelt Island ? Maybe 262 Seeing it is the closest to the Island ?

I wouldn't think that they would place a solo truck on the Island. Reason; if there's a job on the Island what is the truck going to do getting in first and have the citizenry yelling "..do something." It would be a problem without and engine in a new house with them. JMHO
