Barneveld NY Volunteer Fire House Collapses Under Weight of Snow

On February 9, 1967, The roof of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Fourth St. and Washburn Avenue in the Brooklyn section of south Baltimore collapsed after a snow storm. This occurred during morning services trapping around 100 worshipers.
The officer of Truck 21 transmitted a second alarm for Box 6834 on arrival. All BCFD ambulances also responded. 40 people were transported to a hospital. Amazingly, there were no fatalities.

In the street above the church's collapsed roof you can see BCFD Engine 1, the Rescue Squad, a 1950 Mack with Gerstenslager bodywork. It would become Rescue 1 in 1971. Looks like all the side compartments are open.
