I know I have harped on this before but the xtra e/t after the second was 56/21, two companies at the extreme end of East Boston who have to respond via the tunnel. Who covers their house, Chelse, Revere, Everett, all cities with their own problems. Chelse covers with e/t, now they get a bona fide fire, where does the extra companies for supression and cover come from. Leave the Eastie companies in Eastie. Replace the truck in Charlestown that useless White shut down, I think 50 is/was a 2 bay house. Just my 2 cents worth!!

Mack,
The box struck for this fire was Box 1212. The box you have listed above Box 1221 was for a fire in the hallway at 74 Salem St a few hours earlier. Same neighborhood though.

Just to be a pain in the butt but smoke showing in Eastie is a immediate response of E8/L1 for cover and R-1 on the fire. I just beleive this is wrong, OK fire 56/21 respond to the deuce, you have 2/1 for the district. A woman goes into labor near E-5 quarters (great food) now you have 2 and 1 for your district. Someone gets into an accident now you need an engine for medial assist. You have ONE aerial truck for all of East Boston with no engine  except for mutual aid for a complete fire district. This is BS, companies in Eastie belong in Eastie. I will listen to all Email responses, if I am wrong I will admit it on the site.GG

Grump - I understand all your comments.  Coverage does seem to be illogical.

Good Morning, just to throw a little fuel onto the fire. I work in Winthrop, a small town/city that boarders East Boston. I understand the concerns you have in re: to coverage into Eastie. We don't move to 56's house till the 7th alarm. This is not by our choice, but by Boston Fire's choice. Every year the Metro Fire run cards are submitted by all Departments and then approved by the chiefs. This also includes fires in Eastie itself. I have been around for a few years, (27) and know a lot of chiefs and firefighters in my area. We would have no issue going into Boston sooner not later, but that is not up to us. This is up to Boston. :)
