City of Buffalo looks to buy used firetruck, money for blizzard damaged trucks approved
One of the first findings in NYU's blizzard report shares that Buffalo's emergency vehicle fleet was "not sufficient" to address the storm event.

The calendar may say June, but the City of Buffalo just got around to OK'ing $240,000 in repair and minor upgrade costs to several rigs that were damaged during the Christmas 2022 blizzard but have since returned to service. The city is also apparently looking to buy a 2007 Engine to augment the fleet until its order for a new Engine and Truck are filled. This is in addition to the $150k already spent on new emergency generators for fire houses and tracked "rapid response vehicles" designed to better operate in heavy snow conditions.
Much of this is in response to a recently released NYU study on the City's planning, response and operations during the storm, or lack thereof in some cases.
