Firefighter/paramedic Christopher Wheatley passed away this morning following injuries he suffered from a 4-story fall. FF Wheatley was on a ladder attached to the side of a restaurant when he lost his footing. Units were operating at a grease chute fire in the west Loop area at appriximately 12:30 AM. FF Wheatley was assigned to Engine 5/Truck 2 @ 500 Des Plaines. :'(

Very sad for the loss of this young 31 year old Chicago Firefighter. I pray that his family and Brothers on the job will find the strength to deal with this tragic loss.
