Choppers to Fight Fires?

I think it really comes down to not wanting to step on NYPD's toes. any reason you can really think of for not getting helicopters there is a solution to. I think it's time for New York to join Los Angeles and Chicago in conducting there own air ops.

LA and NYC are very different places with very different demands on the fire service.  By far the biggest majority of the uses for LA's are for brush fires and medivac, neither of which would have much use in New NYC.  Other than aerial observation and an occasional rescue of the top of a high-rise there really isn't much need for FDNY to have them.  That amount of money and staffing will be more useful elsewhere.
