Collapse Rescue Response

If the parent Rescue Company is unavailable and a box comes in requiring the Collapse Rescue respond does the closest one respond or do they only respond along with the parent company? Like if R4 is unavailable and a response is needed in Queens and its R2 and R3 going does L116 still transport Collapse Rescue 4 or does R2 or R3 bring theirs?

Designated backup transport units for Collapse Rescue units were utilized until relatively recently. Current practice now calls for the “nearest available unit” to transport.

I am pretty sure Who ever the first rescue is that’s the collapse that goes. Cause recently R1 was at a fire and the had a collapse box on the east side and R4 first due and L116 transported CR4. And L25 was available with CR1 and they went with the SSL instead. Also I don’t even think L25 has the keys for the locks on the collapse. Only R1
