I thank you Mike as well. These are very informative newsletters and passing this on allows firefighters who might not be familiar with this incident to learn from the past experiences of the FDNY.
There is another brief story regarding this incident as well on this site. It is written in the History section under a thread called "The War Years". On page 1 of that thread, site member *******, who was the Manhattan/Bronx Commander at the time of this incident, talks about it.
