December 1 1958 Our Lady of Angels School Fire Chicago

I remember that well. Very sad story. As I remember it one firefighter responded on the first due Engine while his daughter was in school.

  After that, many changes came about in fire prevention laws to protect school children. I was going to Catholic Grammer School at the time. I remember all the work being done to doors, stairways etc.

  I remember watching this on the news. These kids were all my age at the time. Attending Catholic Grammer School, having a father on the job, brought this incident very close to home. I know I'll never forget this fire.
 
My wife's boss survived this fire. It must have really sucked to be on the job that day and have responded.
