Okay...so I'm on my way to work around 4am on the Jan 26th. Flippin' around the XM Radio, I hear on the weather/traffic channel for NYC that there is " Ongoing fire department activity affecting the area around Fulton, Ann, Gold and William Street's in lower Manhattan"..."expect things to be congested there, well into the morning rush"...

I haven't seen anything on this anywhere...anybody know?

Debris falling from the new residential high-rise under construction (near Pace, which cancelled day-time classes) due to improper site safety and high wind conditions.  A large area of downtown was closed off for several hours and occupants of residentials and commercials in the area were advised to remain indoors.  Several summonses were issued at the construction site for the safety violations (imagine that - safety violations at a New York City construction site!  Who'd uh thunk?!?!?!).  Unfortunately the real estate developers and construction industry just can't seem to get the message about safety, even after the D-Bank Building fire.
