DRILL TEAM REPORT.

I'm glad it's not my tax dollars paying for this. With all the requirements today from OSHA, NFPA etc, about fire dept safety, and diffucult economic times we have, how can ANY fire dept be allowed to get away with this. Let alone the serious injuries that have taken place.
 
This has been discussed several times previously in length, get people keep harping about the inappropriate use of taxpayer money.  Taxpayer money is not used to finance these teams!  They use various other methods to raise money to support them.  While the actual skills used for drill teams may not be part of the actual firefighting it goes a long way in supporting team building and promoting camaraderie among fire department members.  Two very important aspects of firefighting.
 
I would like to see some closeups of the rigs used as well as the specs on the motors...... trans ....etc.

Theirs are also some teams in the Rochester/Buffalo areas and I believe possibly in the northern tier/Watertown area.  The department I was in outside of Rochester (Henrietta) has one of the teams.

  Not entirely true everywhere.  While fund raisers may provide for the running of some teams, it's when the VEHICLES are PURCHASED and INSURED by the Fire DISTRICT -- that IS taxpayer money.
 
It seems like everytime money becomes tight the Bean Counters surface and start digging. I went to some competions in the late 50's with a few other guys as a day out and I believe it was Hicksville. never remember hearing a word about it then.
