RIP... I use to dispatch for DPD. Great Dept, aggressive. Unfortunately run Officer, Chauffer and generally 1 FF in back (trucks sometimes 2). I think this is their first LODD (other than 1 due to Covid) in over 60 years (though for a time being it was Durham Public Safety, meaning PD and FD were a combine job. They separated in 1985.
One firefighter died and two others were injured while battling a building fire Thursday morning in Durham. The building's roof collapsed during the fire, trapping several crew members.
This is an aerial view from google maps of the fire building and surrounding area. It used to be a body repair shop which apparently was converted (probably illegally) for residential use (or was subleased out and still being used as a body shop)
