FDNY drone in operation in Brooklyn scaffolding collapse

Obviously they've made progress with drones.  They made a big deal out of it when they started with a tethered drone, and this one is obviously not tethered.  I never could see how a drone trailing a cable to its control box would be really useful.

It's nice to see video of a drone at an operation but I'm sure we'd rather see video from a drone at an operation.

They spent enough money on the tethered drones, if I remember correctly it was around $20,000 each, for how long they used them. Even though they still are probably in-service and never did make much sense to me either. Especially the fact that they only had something like 200 feet of cable so you couldn't get around the sides or back of a bldg.. Free flying once make a lot more sense.
