2 nights ago I watched the Clint Eastwood movie Coogan's Bluff (1968) where he plays an Arizona Deputy Sheriff going to Manhattan to pick up a fugitive. When Eastwood gets out of the taxi he walks past a single bay firehouse and then into the 23rd Precinct, I do not know if that precinct is real or not. If anyone is familiar with the movie...any ideas which firehouse that may be?

I've never seen the movie, but if it was filmed in the actual 23rd Precinct (which according to IMDB it was), then the firehouse would be Engine 53, which back then was a single Engine Co. The firehouse and the precinct used to be right next door to each other on E104 st. You can just see the firehouse on the left of the first picture here: http://www.policeny.com/bui/23PctcompDR (Custom).jpg

Both these buildings are now residential occupancies; the precinct and firehouse are now around the corner from each other on 3rd Ave and E102 st.
