UASI is Homeland Security funded.  For its purposes, Newark and Jersey City both fall under the Tier 1 NYC metropolitan area.

Will these replace the MERVs?

I doubt it mercury as they are set up differently. These seems more for stretcher transport than the mervs do.

These are more for things like hospital evacuations and moving large number of paients. Not so much of a treatment unit.

METU's are no in service at the following locations.
EMS Division 3, 4, and 5

You can put 4 seated patients or 3 supine patients per section
Max 24 supine patients or 32 seated patients
Also can hold 10 wheel chair patients in the center walkway

Has a ramp with a winch built into the floor for loading patients.
Equiped with a Ferno LBS system for Bariatic patients, so instead of removing the stretcher from the back of the ambulance and laying a patient on the floor, they can be moved in the METU
