FDNY Training Tips 2025-67: Illegal Transportation of LPG Cylinders

Nothing new, per se, from my time we've always treated abandoned van fires as potential bombs because the local chop shops would pack the van with gas tanks removed from other derelict vehicles that were not always empty and then dumped in vacant lots. Secondly, once LPG bottles were permitted to be refilled or swapped, you could almost suspect any work van/ truck to have one, and today even the family car, especially during barbque season... Remedy, use the reach of an 1 3/4" solid stream.
 
I've been amazed at the amount of food venders in Times Square that have so many propane tanks on the roof of the food carts. Accident waiting to happen.
