Fire Apparatus Journal May-June 2026 Edition

That’s what happens when businesses and brands sell to someone who is just looking to make money. It always loses the personnel touch, commitment and passion of the original creator. Sad

Two questions,,,why did FDNY do away with the squirts,,,,also what is the policy of how many members are in the bucket when a tower ladder is in operation. I beleive I've seen videos of only 1 person in the bucket and other times two.

Are you guys in Philly still using Squrts. I know New Orleans still uses some

Yes but you have to get a good position on the fireground to use the squirt itself. They are front line engines and run just like everyone else. Years ago our alarm room had run cards that went up to the 12th alarm, however, if the alarm room thought a fire was going to be an extra judging by the initial reports they would send them to cover up so they would be close to the job and be able to get a good position on the fireground. The alarm room could deviate from the run cards anytime they wanted to. I don't know if they even use run cards anymore.

Thanks for sharing that. Always nice to see what others are doing. Stay well
