Friday at approximately 4 PM Boston Fire Alarm received reports of heavy smoke inside the Ted Williams Tunnel which leads you directly to Logan Airport. Box 9141 was transmitted, arriving units found three cars involved in an accident with a heavy fire and smoke condition. A second alarm was then transmitted with the main body of fire quickly knocked down in two of the vehicles, third car was a hybrid and was more difficult to contain. 3 of the occupants were transported by Boston EMS. Tunnel is named after Red Sox star player Ted Williams who had his career cut short by involvement in 2 conflicts, WWII and Korea. While in Korea his wingman on several missions was John Glenn. Greatest ball player never to appear in a World Series IMHO.
