So the meters and electronics and things I understand, but why are the hand tools, SCBAs and such not kept on the truck.
Cab is not locked. All other compartments are.
When the rig is used for PMP the Front Line squad takes off there SCBAs, hand tools and anything important that Squad 800 doesn’t have on it already

Any plans for the Squads to have fully stocked spares like the Rescue's do? Seems like 1 spare Squad isn't really enough.

Sqd 800 isn’t a spare it’s a reserve unit being that it’s fully equiped and can be in service in a fairly quick time line. They do have spare squad rigs , not truly sure on the number of squad spares. A spare is a rig that has no equipment on it. When a company‘s rig goes out of service for a mechanical issue and must use a “spare “ they have to completely transfer their equipment from the oos rig into a ”spare “. And that can take hours to do.

Reserve = Full equipment rig that can be put in service in a short amount of time , for unusual incidents and emergency.

Spare = an empty rig that will be used by a company when their normally assigned rig goes oos for a long period of time.

Squads are not Rescues two different animals.

Only one spare squad rig. Trying to keep inservice for the rest of the year. Just Recently up to 4 squads where using spare engines as spares. SQ1 SQ252 SQ61 SQ18 and 270 had the spare squad.
