At least 6 10-45s, MCI declared, multiple ambulances requested

Mutual aid from Woodmere, Long Beach, Atlantic Beach, Nassau County Fire Marshals Hazmat, Nassau County Police MERV-1, more.

From the Freeport FD:

"911 calls received by Nassau County FireCom at 1:44pm reporting a pallet of household type cleaning chemicals fell and mixed causing a chemical reaction and making people sick; the Freeport FD responded and was on scene quickly, Freeport FD Chief Burkhart was the incident commander.
13 civilians with exposure to chemicals were evaluated by EMS, 3 were transported to NUMC.
No other civilian or first responder injuries reported.
The chemical spill was contained, involved chlorine bleach and vinegar.
The situation is under control and there is no further threat to the public or the environment.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal Hazardous Materials Response team was requested by Freeport FD and was on scene operating in protective suits and on air, working to identify the chemicals (household cleaning type chemicals) and assisting in the clean up to ensure the building was safe for workers to re-enter.
Freeport FD was assisted by 8 mutual aid fire department ambulances and there were approx. 40 firefighters on scene."
