Not with the hurting of parts that’s why departments don’t have them anymore cause the parts.
American LaFrance went out of business in 2014. I think some dealers were/are still doing warranty work in the last units out the door but that's about it.

Yeah a lot of towns in Jersey struggle for parts and are just trying to get rid of them… Bayonne, Jersey City, Kearny, Newark

Unless ALF did something like Pierce does and use proprietary parts, they should be off the shelf. The books that come with each unit would have all of that info. EOnes directional modules, the one on the steering column come from F550 or 650s for example.

The writing was on the wall for a while before ALF finally closed up shop which surprised me that so many depts still bought from them in the end.

Wasn’t ALF using freightliner parts?

Honestly don't know. Its possible. The last ALF I dealt with was our depts 1970s vintage snorkel. And that was in 2004 when hurricane Charley and company came thru. I set it up for the last time to put out a tree debris pile at our motorpool because the smoke was blowing at an assisted living facility. It was sold at auction not long after that. Miss that truck.

When we were specing the new trucks in that time frame, ALF didn't meet at least 1 of the requirements so i never really paid attention other then nostalgia purposes.

I know Polk County, has nothing but problems with their Ferraras. They bought 15 or 20 over 3 or 4 years and every single 1 had suspension problems, some had electronic issues, and the 2 65' aerials, every time they set them up, they'd crack a jack leg. After about 2 years and an additional 3 inches pf welds added to the legs, they ended up going back to La, on semis, to have the stabilization system rebuilt. Supposedly, 1 group of engines had the wrong frames put under them.
