Awesome pix from Bill Noonan.  Liked seeing all of the Ahrens-Fox engines, Walter ladders, and water towers.  Interesting picture of E 310 in front of their quarters with the building lettered for Ladder 160.  I am not sure if Ladder 160 was ever stationed there; someone will know.

L 160 was Org. July 1st 1984 at their current FH and were alone until E 326 was re-organized on August 20th 1984

On Page 28, the last picture (lower right bottom) shows L-132. Does anyone know the following:
Is the rig shown a 1937 Seagrave?
The picture seems to be taken in/around Times Square - can anyone advise/confirm?
Any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Look at the shot of 290's WLF outside of quarters. On the building you can see where "296" was made into "290". 296 was a Queens company although slated at one time to go into 290's place.

Jim, I never saw that truck in L132 I started buffing there and 280 in 1952. L132 was given a new I believe 1936  FWD similar to the one L 120 & L3 had,and they used that truck until they got a new mack metal aerial ladder about 1959

Rigs with "character" - I know the new ones are more efficient and safer in many ways but you have to love this era!

Perhaps it's time for kfd274 to conduct a survey of the the most favored Engine and Truck from this era!!

There are a couple of typos in this photo album so I would venture to say that the '37 Seagrave is either L21 or L24, they both had that type of rig. ;)
