Hartford, CT FD had a small fire and smoke condition in a mechanical room on the 12th floor of a high-rise in Downtown Hartford. Nothing much, but since it went to a 2nd Alarm(protocol due to the fire being in a high-rise), just thought I'd post it.
The incident originally came in as Box 2716 for Capitol Community College, a high-rise commercial building at 950 Main St. at around 14:55hrs. District 1 got o/s and reported nothing showing from a high-rise. Tac. 1 reported Security reporting smoke in an elevator shaft. Tac. 1 reported smoke in a mechanical room on the 11th floor. Engine 2 went up with the Tac., while Engine's 1 and 5 hooked in. District 1 requested HPD to possibly clear the front/lobby of the building.
District 1A reported an electrical odor/smoke problem on the 12th floor. District 1A struck the 1-1-2(2nd Alarm/High-Rise Fire) and requested HPD. Staging on Church St. District 1 then reported reporting a smoke condition near a mechanical room on the 12th floor. Holding the assignment. Requesting HPD for traffic.
District 1 canceled the 1-1-2(2nd Alarm/High-Rise Fire) at around 15:15hrs. and held it to 2 & 2, Tac. 1, and District 1. District 1 dismissed the assignment at 15:38hrs.
