Six out of 10 fire emergency call-outs are a false alarm expatica.com 122012
Last year the fire brigade was called out to deal with 66,000 emergencies which turned out to be a false alarm, according to figures from the national statistics office CBS.
Most of the non-existent emergencies are due to automatic fire warning systems going off because of technical faults or which were triggered by cigarette smoke or burning food.
In total, six out of every 10 call-outs are a false alarm, the CBS said.
