On Saturday, April 29th at approximately 9:50a, the Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire on Melvin Ave. Chief of Department Joyce [4100] was quickly on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 with active fire in the house. Engine 414 was first due and stretched the initial line to the house to begin extinguishing the fire. In total, 2 lines were stretched to extinguish the fire with the assistance of crews from Rockville Centre, West Hempstead, and Malverne. The main body of fire was quickly knocked down with the scene placed under control in approximately 20 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Text courtesy Over the Edge Photography.
