11,000.00 FF now in Northern CA.  That's just about the total amount of FF in the FDNY!!!!!!

FDNY currently has 121 engine companies.  As of 7AM Pacific Time today, Monday October 16, CalFire had deployed 486 engine companies, 51 water tenders, 33 helicopters, 10 fixed wing air tankers, 86 hand crews, 94 bulldozers, and 4,495 personnel in fighting the Central LNU Complex incident, consisting of 4 fires . . . the Tubbs, Pocket, Nuns and Oakmont fires.  All together these fires covered 97,731 acres, and have destroyed 3,947 structures.  And this is only four of the 14 major fires that CalFire is fighting. Hats off to ALL of the men and women working their a$$es off trying to contain these fires. And condolences to the families of the 41 people who have died.

Just to clarify - are you saying that the FDNY has a total of 121 Eng. Co's, or that FDNY gas 121 Eng. Co's in CA ??

Last I heard was we have 198 engines plus the 7 squads as our Engine companies, not sure where the 121 number came from. No units are deployed to Ca. Yet.

OK - Thanks much for clarifying.

I used info from a bad source, sorry.  According to Mike Martinelli's fdnytrucks.com, there are 205 engine companies, plus the squads.  But the point was to show the vast response CalFire has made (along with the many crews and equipment from other states).  And, as far as I know, FDNY has not responded to California.
