Lynn is another of Massachusetts "Mill" cities with a population approx. 85,000. The City was the scene of many conflagrations in the not so recent past.

This afternoon the Lynn was the scene of a 3 alarm fire, on Collins St.

Brownouts are like Russian Roulette.  It is a cowardly way of shutting down firehouses without having the guts to tell a neighborhood that their firehouse is the one being shut down.

Lynn is a busy department with a lot of old industrial buildings, mills, triple deckers.

In the 80's Lynn had its own 'war years' in the 80's. The easiest way to get to Lynn is up Route 1. The mayor was so pissed at the buffs coming up for all the action he had the police set up a traffic checkpoint, only residents and those who didn't act like buffs could proceed.
