The Modified Response to Class E and J alarms that in Manhattan will reportedly go Citywide on April 4th

There will be a new procedure, will have to look it up but currently its something like this.
Class E alarms get only 1 Engine or Truck
Class J alarms get 1&1 during 7am-7pm? if I remember correctly

That sounds right. I'll take a look at the modification tomorrow when I get into work.

Class E 1 Engine or 1 Truck and BC 24/7
Class J 1 Engine or 1 Truck and BC 07X1900, 1900X0700, 3X2 BC

I love these directives that come from the Braintrust on the 7th floor. It says you can't pull a BC off of a Class E unless it's a 10-75 or greater. In the next section it says, If you make the decision to pull off the chief, you have to tell the units the chief is off the box and they will not be replaced. Loophole...

Engines: January, March, May, July, September and November
Trucks: February, April, June, August, October and December

What if its an Engine month, take E14 and Ladder 3 for instance, two seperate stand alone companies on the opposing ends of Union square, if the Class J alarm is just round the corner from 3 Truck, but its an 'Engine' month, would the dispatcher not send the nearest company, ie; 3 Truck, or still send E14, on the basis of it been an Engine month, even though they are further away??

Thanks JT

The Engine still goes. The only time we may deviate is when we get a bunch of them in a row, like if Con Edison has a power spike and it trips off all these alarms.
