Perhaps some of you have tuned in to his many you tube videos on www.youtube.com/@MCsAudio which features interviews and stories from members of the NYPD, FDNY, and New Haven (Ct) Police and Fire

He has been an invited guest on the Gettin' Salty Podcast - (See: Gettin' Salty Podcast - "Gettin' Salty Experience E.P. 214").

He also recently wrote a book titled: "Good Folks - Mad City" which describes Life on the Edge in the FDNY and NYPD based on 40 TRUE Stories from New York's Bravest and Finest.
One of the individuals he gives much credit to in helping him with that book is Retired FDNY Chief Frank Leeb.

On February 13th the West Haven Center District bid farewell to Mike Colon.
He joined that department nearly two years ago and Mike was the first of his kind as a West Haven digital media specialist with his unique personality and unmatched enthusiasm.

Mike is heading onward with a bright future as he follows his life-long dream, which coincidently took a dramatic turn since joining our organization (West Haven FD), as he leaves to go NOT to the police academy, but rather, the Fire Academy of a neighboring municipality.

Mike said Quote:
"I'm not sure I have the words, but I want to thank all of the great people I had the opportunity to work with. I feel like I grew up a lot and learned a lot of important lessons about not just the fire service, but life as a whole".
End of Quote

In closing - I (Willy - NFD2004) learned of this from one of our highly respected site members.
Also - I am only guessing but perhaps Mike Colon is becoming a member of the New Haven Fire Department.

But wherever it is, we wish him a very enjoyable and safe career.

The book "Good Folks - Mad City" by Mike Colon that I mentioned in my earlier comment (reply # 1) is EXCELLENT.

I had ordered it from Amazon and it is easy to read, has 3 or 4 pages dedicated to each of the 40 FDNY/NYPD members he interviewed and contains several black and white pictures related to each story.

One of the GREAT BOOKS I add to my collection.
