New (2011) HazMat 1

Just to demonstrate how behind those Ferrara website photos are; the new Haz-Mat 1 is complete and has been on display at some buff shows.  If it's not in NYC already, it will be any day.  I suspect that this is true for most of the remaining 20 aerials as well.

Its a Federal Signal Viewpoint. NYPD ESU trucks have had them for a while.

The new Ferrara HazMat1 actually has Federal Signal's brand-new ViewPoint SLR lightbars with LED rotators.  Exact same color-changing technology as in the new Vision SLR lightbars that are being installed on the newest NYPD RMP's.  More information here.
 
Nice looking trucks.  Not knowing the factory hours of operation for Ferrara, I'm curious if the plant is working around the clock to get this order built in a specific timeline?

Says it was built on the Igniter chassis.  Thought they were building all in the new Ultra.  Any thoughts?
 
FYI - That "New Delivery" shot is actually of the current HazMat, and is on an "Igniter" chassis.  The new Ferrara HazMat is built on the "Ultra" chassis...

That's what I thought - Ultra.  They need to update their web site

It's a rolling science lab.  Maybe there are some things they are waiting to take delivery on.  Who know's?  That's by FAR the most complex piece of apparatus in the fleet.
