New FDNY/EMS Battalion Vehicle

I don't like them without the white upper, just my opinion.

I agree there Mr Smokeater. As you probadly know, the City of Yonkers has the same type of rigs but with the white top. Just looks better, I think.

PICKY,PICKY,PICKY

I can get used to it, and from what lil rumbling i've heard it might go that way with all the new rigs comin in, in order to "save money"...though i'm really not sure how much it'll save

Tried getting over to see 23's yesterday but nobody was around on housewatch. Has anybody seen the new layout and know if it is better?

I too dislike the solid red. I am also not a fan of putting the FDNY in the break in the stripes on the back doors. I know it's being a bit picky.

23 guys are getting used to the lay out and said they'll reserve judgment.

Usually I hate change...but i'm not fully against the all red....i do however dislike the FDNY on the sides...seems more commercial then even I like.

Counted 27 new vehicles at 58th Street.

Most are for EMS.

Saw two Division vehicles:  3 and 8

Saw seven Batallion vehicles: 11, 16, 19, 41, 43, 47, and 48.

One or two vehicles, I couldn't read the markings.

Only.issue I heard is that some feel there is less room in thd back.

Aside from my original comment in reply # 34 in this thread.....now having seen them....OVERKILL....an additional 11 inches longer than the excursion clunkers....but the large handy talkie recoder box is now in the second seat because there is no ac/heat in the rear area....this reduces this large vehicle to a three seater.....ridiculous.

Heard from a few EMS bosses that I worked with that the rear "cover" is coming off of the bodies and the hatch windows are already falling off. We didn't have those problems with the GMC suburbans that had the two doors on the tail or the Ford excursions.
