Mayor Bloomberg and Commisioner Scoppetta were at Engine 201, Ladder 114 & Battalion 40 for a new firehouse opening ceremony today. :)

Are 201/114/40 officially in their new quarters and responding from there?  Anyone know the address?

Yes, it's at the same site as E201's old house 5113-4th Avenue between 51st & 52nd Streets. ;)

ehh eng 201 old quarters was a beautiful house i cant think the new one will match it.

On the TV News video I saw that they have a replica front doorway of L114's [BROOKLYN FIRE DEPARTMENT HOOK & LADDER Co. 18] old firehouse at the rear wall of the apparatus floor. (like Rescue 1 has)

For TCU 712:  FDNY is showing the old address, 5113 4th Avenue, for the new house although it is built on a lot adjacent to the old firehouse.  The date of the move for all units was January 8.

Nice looking firehouse from the outside, hope it suits the needs of the members.

The New Quarters are located on the previous lot as well as the adjacent lot as the new building is about 3x the size of the previous building.

Yes the old house was nice but in dire need of being replaced. Built over 110 years ago, the roof had holes in it and the floor was being held up by dozens of screw jacks in the basement! :-\

Too bad these new firehouses have such a modern look and look rather sterile. I know costs are always an issue but a little charm in the architectural design would go a long way.

Here is an architectural rendering on the cover of the 2007 Annual Report.  Seems to fit nicely into the neighborhood.

Used the spell check this time!!!
