So FDNY wants to use Medic Cars??  What they gonna be called??  We got en here in Syracuse.  Rural Metro runs them as a 500-599 series Ford Expedition.

Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corp
North Area Volunteer Ambulance Corp
Northern Onondaga Volunteer Ambulance
East Area Volunteer Emergency Services
Western Area Volunteer Emergency Services
Southern Area Volunteer Emergency Services
Minoa, Fayetteville, Manlius, Marcellus, and Tully also use them

In Syracuse we use a two piece company, our "Mini's" handle EMS emergencies leaving the Engine or Maxi Pumper in quarters for other emergencies.

Our Mini's are also all four wheel drive too

Just curious what FDNY is gonna do to alleviate there issues

I am not sure how this will work but I don't think they will put them in Firehouses I would think they would be part of EMS.  I also know they will not take guys off an Engine Company to run a 2 piece company for EMS.  I am not a Syracuse Firefighter but I don't think sending 2 guys to a 99 when the other 2 are out on a mini run is a safe thing. But it seems to work for you guys. Just my opinion not judging.

They are for EMS and will not be in firehouses. Not To be redundant, but it was a disaster in the early 90's and I'm sure it will turn out that way when it's done again.
