NYPD Emergency Service Division - Squad Trucks

I was just wondering how come ESU Truck 5 is different with a 4 door cab and the rest of the new E-ONE ESU Trucks with 2 door cabs?

After the Boston Bombings, Commisoner Kelly wanted the new ESU trucks to be 10 man cabs in case something like that happens here, they can move more men into the scene with one truck.  Trucks 4, 5 and 6 will have these 10 man cabs.

It appears that NYPD ESU is performing more law-enforcement specific missions, counterterrorism/tactical in nature.  Has their role in more FD-related missions been diminished?  It appears that more and more of their focus is on the tactical part.  I haven't read of any "incidents" between them and FD recently.

ESU is also beginning to integrate 4 door REP's to the fleet as well. ESS 5 has a brand new 4 door F-550 REP.......

OK thank you. I was wondering if they all will get the ten man cabs instead of just a few of them?  Also they are all walk in rescues so they could put guys in the back also right? I remember building one of them when I worked at Salisbury Fire Rescue and they where 2 door walk-ins.

Anyone have anymore pictures of these? Also do they go to Absolute fire Apparatus to get the finishing touches on them?

I was wondering how come the new ESU trucks from E-One are not on there website?  Does anyone have anymore pics of them?

Truck 4 has their new rig on the street the other day. It has the 10-man cab.

Unless thats bench seating all around, i'm a bit skeptical that'll hold 10, especially fully tac-ced out.

I was thinking the same thing by looking at them.  It's certainly going to be awfully crowded.

I remember working on the Saulsbury ones wish there was pics of he insides of the new ones.

I think ya' could probably cram 10 Cops in there if ya' had to...

As for the multi-compartment Body - I think ya' could put an R.M.P. in There !    ;)

You could defiantly get ten in there four facing forward four facing backwards and two in the front, remember there cops and don't need the extra room for bunker gear etc,,

No turnout gear.  Just bulletproof vests, M-16's, cargo pants with every pocket filled, etc., etc., etc.  ::)
