Patrolmen Waverly M. Jones and Joseph A. Piagentini 32nd Pct, ambushed in the Colonial Park houses. Ptl Jones was shot in the head and died instantly, Piagentini was shot 13 times and died en route to hospital. Jones service weapon was stolen and used to kill Sergeant John V. Young of the San Francisco Police Department in August of the same year.

Piagentini had a wife and two daughters, Jones had a wife and three kids. Continued rest in peace.

The 1st suspect was picked up by U.S. Marshals in North Chestfield, Virginia. The second suspect was picked up yesterday.
