May he continue to rest in eternal peace. My Dad was a NYPD detective at the time, we were living in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. My Dad had been a member of ESU Truck 2 over a decade earlier. Sunday Morning, He drove us out there and we stood a block or two away. Looking back, it was pilgrimage to honor Steve Gilroy. He had us all say a prayer and we left. The ride back to the Bronx was somber
