That was a terrible day too. I remember the late FDNY Chief Ray Downey led the rescue and recovery. At that time there was only a few Urban Search and Rescue Teams. I think FDNY, Dade County, Fairfax County, and maybe LAFD responded. As I remember 168 people lost their lives, including several children from a Day Care. One of those incidents where most people will always remember where they were, or what they were doing when they first heard of the explosion.
