In the area, we have an old single bay firehouse that was built around 1896, that was closed 100 (?) years later in 1996 (?). That firehouse, former Engine 6 quarters, was sold at the time for less than $100,000. The owner purchased it with plans to convert that old firehouse into a pizza restaurant, which he did. It is called: "Engine 6 Pizza".
Inside that converted firehouse are a few relics from days of the past. It is still in business today located at 195 West Thames St, Norwich, Ct. During it's operation as a firehouse it was referred to as "The Best in the West".
