Hero Dog Award

Long time club member of the Arizona 10-13 retired NYPD Detective Fred Brown had a serious brain injury back in November. He hit his head as a result of a fall in his home. His service dog Sassy came to his aide as he lay unconscious on the fall. Sassy ran to the bedroom and jumped on the bed to wake Fred's wife
Betsy. Sassy then returned to Fred's side until he was removed to the hospital. Fred was in ICU for several weeks as a result of the fall. Fred as well as the doctors and emergency personnel feel that he would have died if not for his Service Dog Sassy.

As a result Sassy has to be nominated for 2012 American Humane Association Hero Dog Award.
The winner of the award is determined by the number of votes it gets after reading about the incident.
You are allowed to vote once per day per e-mail address. Let's do our best to honor one of our own heroes along with his hero dog. You can vote daily until voting ends on June 30th. A Golden Retreiver, I have a "mutt" GR, he is as good as it gets. Get off your couches and vote for SASSY, You guys owe me I voted for some inanne posts. Do not know anyone but SASSY, give me a break! I am OLD SCHOOL, ask my son. I guess I am now 10-24/8. Story hits me hard, we can help this guy!!!!!!!!GG
 
Grump voted but Bear and Austin (golden retreivers) had no ID paw scan will not work, but they have social contacts, will get it done for SASSY.
 
SASSY  Ger it done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boston/Chicago/FDNY we love our pets, that dog is a lot more intelligent then some people I have contact. And by the way YAHOO has a story about a dog who saved his owners's mother but he lost a leg. Owner is a BPD. I really love my dogs. They know 4'30 AM, gotta go! But you have to wake your wife out to get the dogs out. Figure it  out. GG  Weekends r fun. Respect every dog, all they want is a helping hand, a rub behind the ears and a hug, a real hug. Anyone who abuses a dog should find a cell next to a really bad guy. Even in jail there is a order. Bottom is child molesters, next is pet abbusers.
 
OK guys I know I have been a pain in the ass about this issue. There is a movie "Quill the seeing eye dog (I think)" a Japanese movie on this subject. This movie shows the training of a guide dog in Japan. Although the dog is in Japan, his instructions are in English. Guys this movie will hit you hard, the dog is so dedicated. You single guys, find this movie and take your girlfriend. A dog doing his job, soft and cuddly, understand! If it don't work, well!!!!  And vote SASSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
