It is with deep regret the department announces the passing of retired Deputy Chief James J. (Jimmy) Riches, Administrative Operations who succumbed to his World Trade Center related illness on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Deputy Chief Riches served our great department for 30 years.

The following arrangements have been confirmed:

Visitation: Sunday, November 30, 2025

2:00pm - 4:00pm
7:00pm - 9:00pm

Worked with Jim back when R*2 was in BN*31 & Jim was in 110....later when i was a Covering LT Jim was then in 113.....of course yrs later he was ever present while we worked at the WTC & then was a voice for Justice for his Son & all the other's murdered .....Also ran in with his Brother Roddy who was a FF in 111.
