With regret, the Department announces the death of retired Firefighter John H. Marsh, Engine 242, appointed
August 2, 1986, retired April 26, 2014, which occurred on August 28, 2026. This member bravely served this
Department protecting life and property in the City of New York in the rescue and recovery at Manhattan Box
5-5-8087 World Trade Center.
The heartfelt sympathy of the entire Department is extended to the family, relatives, and friends of the deceased
in the midst of the great loss that they and the Department have sustained.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Our Lady Help of Christians RC Church, 7396 Amboy Rd., Staten
Island, NY, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 1000 hours. All off-duty members and their families are invited to
attend. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.

Wednesday, September 2, 2026:
1400 to 1600 hours
and
