Retired FDNY Captain to become Catholic priest for New York Archdiocese

In the article it states that he is the only NYC Firefighter to become a priest. I recall that in the early 1950's another member left the job and became a priest. His religious name, I believe, is Father Martin DePorres. I'm going to look further and I was informed that Firefighter James Clarke, Engine 8, resigned the job in 1947 and was ordained in 1955.

As a kid i remember his picture in robes & a donation box in some FH kitchens.
